Ambient ritual at CAMP: Spectaculare presents the founder and visual face of the Affin label!

On March 16, 2026, the Spectaculare Festival will welcome two iconic figures of German ambient music to Prague's CAMP – Joachim Spieth and Markus Guentner, who will present their cult label Affin. Founded in 2007, the platform is defined by the interconnection of sound and visual identity, organic textures and digital aesthetics. Not only will the founder of Affin be coming to Prague for the first time, but also its visual face, to present an evening dedicated to atmospheric landscapes, contemplation, and carefully crafted ambient sound. The music will be accompanied by visuals prepared especially for this event, sensitively referencing the ambient world and visual style of the Affin label.

Affin is a German music platform founded in 2007 by musician Joachim Spieth. Genre-wise, it ranges between ambient and deep techno, and its key focus is on connecting sound and visual form. That is why every Affin release is part of a unified graphic identity created by Markus Guentner, which blends the organic and the digital.

Affin focuses mainly on album releases, of which it has already released nearly two hundred. An important part of the label's discography are collaborations between artists and collective compilations.

Affin's work will be presented at CAMP in Prague by its founder, Joachim Spieth. He has been active on the music scene for over two decades, and his work is defined by an exceptional attention to detail and an ability to draw listeners into his atmospheric compositions. Spieth's beginnings are linked to the KOMPAKT label, and his tracks can be found on Pop Ambient compilations and in The Orb's Back to Mine mix series. Since 2007, he has been at the helm of his own label, Affin, which under his leadership has become a renowned international platform for ambient music.

He has released several acclaimed albums here (Irradiance, Terrain, Overlay, Retrace), and his compositions have been remixed by alva noto, Pole, and Abul Mogard. He is also the author of the Textures series, in which he creates a sound library. Spieth also works as a DJ and has played in thirty countries at festivals such as Up To Date (Białystok), Mostra (Barcelona), and the Ambientalny Festival in Wrocław. Now he is coming to Prague for the first time.

Markus Guentner is not only a graphic designer but also a classic of contemporary ambient and neoclassical music. In the late 1990s, he made his debut on the cult label KOMPAKT, whose famous Pop Ambient series features several of his contributions. He has worked on film scores and co-founded the Sublime collective and the Stareaway music project in his hometown of Regensburg. Since his early experiments with dub techno, he has gradually pared down the beats and moved more towards ambient. Guentner often and gladly seeks out musical collaborations – for example, the album Empire was created in collaboration with musicians such as Rafael Anton Irisarri, Julia Kent, and bvdub.

Spectaculare offers fans an ambient ritual that will immerse Prague in delicate layers of sound and light for a single evening, transforming the CAMP space into a place of quiet concentration and shared experience.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Prague City Planning Institute and CAMP.
