Janus Rasmussen live (FO)

The same depth. More freedom. Janus Rasmussen, one half of Kiasmos, will bring a new live set built around his album Inert to Spectaculare_14. This time, the familiar fragility and attention to detail move into distinctly more club-oriented territory, drawing on 2-step, breakbeat, IDM, heavier rhythmic drive and Rasmussen’s own vocals. The result is a freer, more physical sound that embraces club energy without losing his ability to create deeply immersive atmospheres. For Kiasmos fans, it offers a rare chance to experience Rasmussen’s musical world from an entirely different perspective.

Inert grew out of a desire to break free from creative autopilot. Rasmussen stopped asking where his music was supposed to fit and began relying more on instinct, contrast and experimentation. The restraint and subtlety remain, but they are now set against stronger rhythms, greater dynamics and a voice that becomes another layer within the electronic architecture. The album moves between introspection and club pressure without feeling the need to choose between the two.

Spectaculare_14 will also offer a rare opportunity to experience both members of Kiasmos within the same festival edition, each pursuing a distinctly personal direction. Ólafur Arnalds will bring Falling Apart Together to Divadlo Hybernia, while Rasmussen takes Inert into the club setting of Bike Jesus. Two halves of Kiasmos, two different directions – and a chance to hear what happens when each of them steps out on their own.
