Emika [UK] live

Fountain Immersive AV show

Voice, piano and immersive electronics unfolding across an entire 360° dome. From the dark electronics of her early Ninja Tune releases through symphonic composition, Emika has pushed her work towards music created for some of Europe’s largest planetarium domes. With her new live show Fountain Immersive, she takes that evolution another step forward, both musically and technologically. Composed and mixed in her own immersive studio, the music is designed to move around the audience and make full use of the dome itself. At Prague Planetarium, it will merge with the monumental visual world of László Zsolt Bordos. Emika will perform only two shows on 4 March – at 19:00 and 20:30.

Fountain Immersive grows out of the new album Fountain and Emika’s years-long exploration of spatial sound. Created in a studio built in collaboration with Genelec and Dolby Laboratories, the music was conceived from day one for Dolby Atmos, Spatial Audio and planetarium domes rather than being retrofitted from stereo. Voice, piano, analogue synthesizers and electronics become objects in space, able to approach, disappear and travel above the listener. Beneath the technology lies deeply personal material: Fountain emerged in the wake of the death of Emika’s mother, herself an artist who taught her from an early age how to transform pain into creativity.

For the visual dimension, Emika once again joins forces with Hungarian artist László Zsolt Bordos, her collaborator on the previous 360° project If We Disappear, which sold out planetariums from Berlin and Hamburg to Prague. This time, they move beyond purely digital imagery to explore reflection, refraction, diffraction and the dispersion of light. The visuals are not a backdrop to the live performance, but another layer of the composition itself. Fountain Immersive turns the planetarium dome into one living instrument – and places the audience directly inside it.

The concert will take place as part of the 14th edition of the multi-genre Spectaculare festival, unfolding across a range of Prague venues throughout March and April 2027.
