The German experimental band Can was formed in the late 1960s and is one of the pioneers of German space rock, known in the West as krautrock. Their elusive psychedelic compositions have inspired everyone from trip hop to Radiohead to Mars Volta. In the poetic 2022 documentary Can and Me, the band's founder Irmin Schmidt looks back on his life, but the distinctive film also functions as a meditation on the role of silence and sound in human life. On Monday 4 March, a short portrait of the Austrian electronic duo HVOB called Let's Keep This Quiet will also be screened.
